This print diptych accompanies the video New Utopias. The drawings, printed as white silkscreens on blue digital fields, are an axonometric drawing and technical details of the Parliament/Funkadelic Mothership. The Mothership was a full-scale spaceship that was lowered onto the stage at the climax of the band’s performances during one of their most famous tours in the mid-1970s. The Mothership was a real artifact of an imagined black utopia and represented one of the last traces of utopian thinking in the twentieth century.
