This print diptych from the Display Nature: Silvanum installation juxtaposes a simplified Resor tableau (bases on Mies van der Rohe’s 1939 Resor House studies), printed as a minimalist woodblock composition, and a pristine forest view taken through the windows of the Display Nature exhibition site, the Konstcentrum in Gävle, Sweden. The landscape view, outlined in graphite pencil, is clearly a pictorial artifact, whereas the Resor composition can be read as either a flat graphic composition or as two forms receding in space before a rectangular background (the exact same size and placement as in the Silvanum print) also delineated in graphite.
